Does any comic-book movie go with the comic timeline completely? Spiderman starts off with Mary Jane instead of Gwen Stacy, who isn’t seen until the 3rd, she never dies by Spidey’s hand, and Green Goblin dies and isn’t resurrected. In Spiderman 2, Dr. Octopus dies before ever being part of the Sinister Six, so that is far from the comics. Same said for X-Men, Fantastic Four, Hulk, Iron Man. If you’re saying that a super-hero movie is only canon if it follows the comics to a “T”, none are canon.

Wow, thank you for reiterating EXACTLY what I just said. Don’t act as if you’d realized this before me. If you had, then you would have said all comic book movies were not canon instead of going after The Dark Knight solely and specifically.
