A password for the BIOS is NOT safe-proof. Too many people know how to bypass it. BIOS manufacturers provide on their site generic passwords that can unlock the BIOS. Some softwares, available for free, will do the trick. You can also open the machine and clear the CMOS by removing the battery for at least 10 minutes, and then the BIOS will be reset to its defaults values. One can simply change the position of the CMOS jumper or dipswitch once located, and you’re done.

From Slashdot…”Are you using Windows Vista? Then you might as well know that the licensed operating system installed on your machine is harvesting a healthy volume of information for Microsoft. In this context, a program such as the Windows Genuine Advantage is the last of your concerns. In fact, in excess of 20 Windows Vista features and services are hard at work collecting and transmitting your personal data to the Redmond company.”

It’s amazing how many wireless networks you can connect to that don’t have a password, then type 192.168.1.1 and guess the name and password to get into someones router. You can even brick their router by doing a faulty firmware upgrade.

sometimes just restarting the computer can erase data. i know all the computers at my school have this rootkit or something like that made by microsoft, that erases all the data saved onto the computer after it restarts. this would eliminate all cookies and anything else saved to the computer.

Hello Chris, I really love your videos. I have been trying to Email you but it is not going through for some reason. I have a question about outlook. It seems that when I try to Email using outlook there are times that it tells me the Email address is not valid yet I know it is and when I use my hotmail or other Email providers the Email works. Any suggestions? Thanks and BTW in the chat I am also LrdDarkFyre. Have a wonderful weekend.
